So the first thing to do is to write down a list. No, not "to do" list. The list should be "do not" list. the last thing I do at the end of my working day is to plan what I will do the next day. This allows me to start my day soon. I do not have to think about planning. I can get straight into my work.
As part of my personal productivity system, I turned on 20 minutes a day for reflection. During that 20 minutes every day, I turn off my phone, make sure I'm not going to get any breaks, put my hands behind my head and think. This reflection time is used for strategy planning and problem-solving.
This requires a certain amount of discipline to take time to think because the attack socializing, coffee and other distractions. Some of my best thinking occurred during the 20 minute break, when I was very creative.
