An Example of a Personal Productivity System

So the first thing to do is to write down a list. No, not "to do" list. The list should be "do not" list. Make popisstvari that you should not do because they are obstacles to their personal productivity. Here are five examples that are often on my list. I have included explanations so you can see the reason for the items.

1 Do not procrastinate.

Sometimes I'm guilty of putting things off, but planning my day so I had the hardest first.

2 Do not waste time on the web.

While I was looking for something on the internet, I get distracted other interesting information. When I see words in a dictionary or thesaurus, I'm inclined to look to other words as well.

3 Do not encourage interruptions.

is often not close my office door so that people who go sometimes interrupt me to hang out. This wastes a lot of time.

4 Do not lose focus.

I have a sign in my office with my monitor and says: "If what you are doing is moving on your goal, do not do it!" It helps me to think that I'm working on a regular basis to make sure I do things to me progress. It is so easy to get sidetracked.

5 Do not forget to plan tomorrow.

the last thing I do at the end of my working day is to plan what I will do the next day. This allows me to start my day soon. I do not have to think about planning. I can get straight into my work.

As part of my personal productivity system, I turned on 20 minutes a day for reflection. During that 20 minutes every day, I turn off my phone, make sure I'm not going to get any breaks, put my hands behind my head and think. This reflection time is used for strategy planning and problem-solving.

This requires a certain amount of discipline to take time to think because the attack socializing, coffee and other distractions. Some of my best thinking occurred during the 20 minute break, when I was very creative.
